Thai Kick Boxing: Beginner is an awesome series of instructional videos designed to get the user acclimated to the sport of Thai Kick Boxing or Muay Thai. Muay Thai aka “The science of 8 limbs” makes use of the hands, feet, knees and elbows.

I’m happy to have had the chance to review this app which is available for the iPhone and iPad as I’m very familiar with Muay Thai having trained for a while before injury. It’s a great combat art as it is sport and focuses on technique, discipline and respect.

Lead instructor and former World Kickboxing Association Champ, Professor Edgerton Brown of Gym 445 in San Francisco instructs the viewers as they were part of his live class.

The videos are professional and thorough and cover areas from the basics of hand wrapping to combinations, complete with multiple angles of the instructor, and even some cardio busting pliometrics. This app not only is a great workout, but really covers the fundamentals well and makes me want to get back into the sport. I look forward to advanced lessons from Gym 445 and Edge Brown.
