QixSpin is a fast paced arcade game for iOS

QixSpin is a fast paced arcade game that has players using their reflexes and concentration to find pieces in a 3D puzzle. As you progress through the game, you’ll unlock new levels and a bunch of cool rewards for your Game centre account. In the end, only the quickest will be able to unlock the elusive Gold star.

Once installed, you can select a new game by tapping on the start button in the main menu. If you want to adjust your settings, tap on the wrench icon and you’ll be able to change options such as music, sfx, control systems and control speeds. Each of these settings, especially the control system and control speed, will have an effect on your ability to complete each level.

The tutorial at the beginning of the game explains everything you need to know about the gameplay. It walks you through the different interface elements, game rules and tips for unlocking bonuses throughout the game. Each level involves you trying to match the highlighted shape on the top right corner of the screen with the 3D object in the centre of the screen.

There’s a bit of a learning curve involved, but it probably won’t take you more than an hour to figure out how to activate bonuses and successfully find the pieces in each level. The game’s 50 levels offer a wide range of challenges and mini-games that keep things exciting. And If you do manage to unlock the gold star, you’ll have access to 10 more levels and more points towards your Game centre account.

Regarding graphics, QixSpin is an excellent looking game. The 3D animations are very smooth, and the animations used throughout the gameplay heighten the game’s immersion even further. Although there are few loading screens, they don’t detract from the game’s pacing because they only last a few seconds.

QixSpin is available as a paid download for devices running the latest version of iOS.
