If you’re passionate about photography and want to explore the techniques used by photographers on your iPhone, there’s an app called Pocket Snapper that will transform your device into a portable photo studio/ photo editor. The iPhone Photography app gives you the ability to take pictures with the same finesse as the pros and edit those using similar techniques.

Pocket Snapper iPhone Photography app integrates your devices built in camera into the main user interface and provides direct access to your photo gallery and video library. The app’s camera interface is an emulation of traditional SLR cameras and includes various functioning details such as zooming and camera flash settings. There’s a self-timer that works fairly well and can count down to a maximum of ten seconds. Another addition to the interface is an ISO meter at the top which serves as a purely cosmetic addition, but is a nice little touch nonetheless.

Pocket Snapper also lets you record videos and edit them in the same way as you would your photos. There’s a frame by frame editing function lets you can extract pictures from your videos and store them in your photo gallery. All your files can be accessed through the apps File Manager and this is also where you get to edit your photos. You can rotate, crop, add effects, frames and dialogue boxes to your photos. There is also an auto adjust option that automatically corrects the coloration and contrast settings to make your image look better.

One of the most unique features of Photo Snapper is iModel. This feature literally makes you a photographer by giving you a list of models to download and then letting you take pictures of them as they move around and strike poses. Once you’re done taking the photos, you can export the images into your photo gallery and edit them to your liking. iModel is a really cool addition and makes you feel like you’re taking pictures of real life models. Additionally, if you want others to view the pictures you’ve taken; you can do so by creating an account and sharing your files with other community members.
