AppDictions App Review
It’s hard to say what it is about trivia games that are so appealing. The randomness of the questions coupled with the wide array of subjects it covers results in a rather challenging task. There are few – if any – people in the world who can claim to master the forte of generally useless bits of knowledge, and yet everyone is flocking to these types of games.
Anytime, anywhere is quiz time for those who have the good sense to download Kwizniac on their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.
The Brand Café knows what it is the public wants; they know a good challenge is irresistible. Their latest hit Kwizniac will surely be the toast of trivia maniacs anywhere. Judging by the commendable quality of the game, a trivia geek probably designed it himself.
For one, the game play is excellent. There’s really not much you can do to spruce up the game play of a quiz game; it’s essentially a pretty straight-forward concept. Guess what the clues are describing, whether a person, place, film or any of the 200 items the application offers. Players should take note of the timer at the bottom. Kwizniac also gives gamers a bit of freedom with the option to choose when to reveal the ten given clues. The fewer clues a player gets before guessing the answer translates to more points, so users have to ask for clues sparingly.
While the developers had little room to change too much of game play, they clearly focused a lot of their energy on making the app as aesthetically pleasing as possible. The psychedelic color scheme is balanced with clean and smooth execution of layout and design, plus all the clues and answers clear and easy to read.
Perhaps the only area Kwizniac can improve on is giving more items on which to guess, because the game is quite short, and a game this good should last much longer. All in all, a superb buy.
Designed to test your knowledge under pressure, the object is to accumulate as many points as possible. Each card has 10 clues in decreasing order of difficulty, where each clue is easier to decipher than the previous. The more clues, the less points! How’s your brain working today?
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.Requires iOS 4.2 or later.
