Jewel attack is one of those simple-yet-addictive games found on the app store. In this game your job is to collect as many jewels as possible before the time runs out. The way you do this is by sliding your finger across the screen as the jewels fly past. The more jewels you get, the more points you score. If you hit multiple jewels in one swipe, you are granted a combo, which gives you extra points. But be careful, if you hit a bomb then you lose 50 points – this really keeps you on your toes. The bombs can be extremely difficult to avoide while trying to get a combos. Keep your eyes open for special treasure items which give you more points, and if you collect all of them it unlocks a bonus level!

The graphics are simple and charming. They are full of color, but not too bright and in-your-face. The jewels and items are nicely drawn. On the stage select screen, you swipe your finger left or right to view the different worlds (there are plenty, each with it’s own unique backdrop and nicely presented) and the animations are smooth and aesthetically pleasing. While swiping at the jewels in-game, your finger leaves behind a line which fades after a few seconds. The gameplay is smooth and is nowhere near frustrating as some of these games can be.

For the price, Jewel Attack is a great app to pass some time and will have you addicted in no time. It is easy to get the hang of, a little difficult to avoid the bombs, but we would recommend it to anyone, whether you are a youngster or an adult!

This is not your typical jewel game. Jewel Attack is a high flying, fast paced, jewel collecting, arcade style game.

Swipe your finger across the screen to collect the jewels, treasures, and power-ups while trying to avoid the many hazards. Creating combos by collecting more than one jewel in a single swipe will increase your points. Collect all the treasures in a stage to unlock that stages’ bonus level.

Jewel attack comes with two action packed modes: Story Mode and Arcade Mode. Story Mode includes 100 intense levels and 5 bonus levels. Arcade Mode is an endless game, where you play until you run out of time. Keep playing the Arcade Mode to try beating your own high score or upload your score to Openfeint, Game Center, Facebook, and Twitter. In the stats page, you can view statistics for both modes of Jewel Attack and the number of treasures you’ve collected.
