Role Playing App Games have been around for almost as long as computers have. They appeal to many because of their immersive story lines and non- linear game play. Often times players will devote a lot of their time in trying to customize their characters with upgrades and unlocking various quests. RPGs have recently begun to migrate onto mobile devices with the same promise of offering users the depth and customization options of traditional RPGs.

EpicHearts is an action RPG for the iPad where players can complete quests, collect items and level up their characters. You start off by selecting your apprentice and then equipping your character with various items and abilities.  You can choose between paladins, swordsmen and gunslingers. The type of abilities you can use will depend on what type of character you choose.

The quest begins with your player facing a gang of opponents that you must defeat using your character's attacks. Characters can use melee attacks or use their magical abilities to ward off  their opponents. As you begin to unlock different quests, you can upgrade your players weapons and abilities. Upgrades will make your weapons inflict more damage and make battles against higher level opponents easier to win.

As far as the story line and game play is concerned, EpicHearts does offer players a solid gaming experience comparable to some of the other popular RPGs on iPhone such Crimson Heart or Square Enix . The game itself contains hundreds of quests which will provide you with hours of game play and put your character’s abilities to the test. The controls are also easy to use and can be customized according to your preferences from the app settings.
