Typing Just Got Easier with Cymbol iPad Keyboard App

Even though the iPad is a great touch screen platform for typing documents it can pose a few challenges when formatting documents that contain different types of symbols. For business people this involves trying to figure out how incorporate statistical symbols into reports whereas scientists would need to format long complex equations.

If you fall into the category of a scientist, business person, or just symbolically-inclined, Cymbol is an app that will make your life a whole lot easier. This text editor app for iPad gives you the ability to input a variety of symbols into your documents naturally and save time when formatting text with your keyboard.

The app’s layout is similar to that of the default iPad keyboard which makes for a fairly intuitive user experience from the moment it’s installed. The symbol buttons are shown on top of the normal QWERTY keyboard and can be tapped on to insert them anywhere on the document.

Aside from the numerous symbols such as the pilcrow (¶), section symbol (§), copyright (©), and trademark (™), you can also insert superscripts, subscripts, and special symbols for mathematical equations. There’s also a hexadecimal converter which lets you convert hexadecimal codes into fonts.

Above the symbols is a menu containing commands to copy, clear, and save your documents. You can send documents via email or tweet them to your profile and the text will still retain its original formatting even when opened in other applications or viewed on a webpage which makes this a good alternative for formatting articles online.

From the intuitive user interface to the comprehensive features, this is an all-round great app for typing documents on your iPad. Cymbol is compatible with iPads running iOS 5.1 or later and costs $0.99 from the app store.
