Crazy Zombie Game is, as the name implies, a game about zombies. This fun 2D arcade shooter will have you aiming, shooting and taking out zombies in a variety of exciting levels. The game contains all the makings of a highly addictive arcade game, so be warned if you’re planning on doing something productive before playing it.

Upon installation, you’re greeted with a home screen where you can select game options, remove ads, and visit the in-game store. Tapping on the big “play” button in the middle of the screen takes to another screen where you can select your chapter or change your character. There are about 50 levels in each chapter, each increasing in difficulty as you progress through the game.

The thing that makes Crazy Zombie Game particularly unique is the shooting dynamic. Instead of shooting directly at moving zombies as you would in traditional shooters, you have to use the level’s environment to ricochet bullets onto the zombies. The zombies don’t run, but each environment gets more complicated, requiring you to use some 9th-grade geometry to figure out the right angle to shoot your bullet for a perfect hit.

There’s also a self-explanatory “Nuke ‘Em!” button on the bottom of the screen that lets you destroy all the zombies on screen in a single tap. After using this feature once, you’ll have to visit the in-game store to buy additional nukes with coins or real money.

The only gripe I have with this app is the constant haptic feedback every time you shoot. I understand how it could help the game’s immersion, but it did get irritating after a few levels. Luckily, there’s an option to turn it off in the settings menu, along with a setting to turn off the in-game music.

If you’re looking for something new to add to your mobile game collection, then this game is worth getting. Crazy Zombie Game is free to download from the iTunes app store for devices running iOS 6.0 or later.
