So what is it exactly that is making Boo so angry? Well, when our friendly little ghost Boo was fast asleep, someone came in and stole all of his coins – what nerve! Our job is to help Boo regain his lost fortune in this fun platform jumper for the iPhone from developer Yubi Games.

As in any platformer, there are physics based principles, and in Angry Boo we slide, hold, then release Boo, propelling him through the air to reach the many spider webs on the board, all the while titling the device and steering Boo’s trajectory towards his coins. Coins equal points, and points equal competition, so luckily for us competitive types Angry Boo is social network integrated and also comes Game Center and OpenFeint enabled.

Angry Boo features 4 themes consisting of 28 challenging levels and excellent hand drawn graphics. We were not sure what to expect with so many platform jumpers, but Angry Boo exceeded any pre-judgments we may have had. Free in the games category and should be really well received, especially for platform jumper aficionados.

Each collected coin get players 10 points, but if you can pick up multiple coins quickly you’ll be rewarded with multiplier bonuses for each coins! Get two coins in a row and the second one will net you 20 points instead of 10! Bag 3 coins quickly and the second and third coins will be worth 20 and 30 points a piece — the point multipliers keep climbing to a maximum of 9 coins so the faster you go the richer you’ll get!
